In a nice move Ubisoft has said they are going to be giving us free DLC every Thursday!  This content includes weapons, outfits, skills and most importantly maps for Deniable Ops!  This will probably not last for ever but it is still great and I applaud Ubisoft.

In a weird move you get a free week Xbox Live for buying the Stimulus Map Pack on Day 1 you get a free week Gold.  This is sort of nice but I think it is to apologize for problems with the game, the map pack and the price of it!

Still it is better than nothing but a month would have been a hell of a lot better!  Here is the message anyway "To thank you for your loyalty to Xbox LIVE and for buying the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus package on day 1, we will extend your Gold membership for 7 more days of adrenaline-pumping action with your friends on LIVE. Your account will be updated by May 1."

UP Review

Up is the latest Pixar film and is rated very highly at the moment and is the 42nd best film at the moment according to Imdb. I watched this film at the cinema two days ago in 3D and really enjoyed it!

* * * The Plot * * *

Carl Fredrickson idolises the explorer Charles Muntz. He meets a young girl called Ellie who also admires Muntz and both of them have a great sense of adventure and marry! They both want to go to Paradise Falls in South America but they never get to visit or live there. There is a section of the film showing their life together in a few minutes which was very moving and quite sad to watch. It shows many financial problems stopping them going to Paradise Falls, the life they had with each other and them growing up and Ellie passing a way in a few minutes!

Canon Ixus 960 IS Camera Review

I thought I would do something a little different and write a camera review so here goes.

The Canon Ixus 960 IS is a very impressive camera especially for a pocket camera.  I have had it for a bit longer than a year and am delighted with my purchase!  I chose it due to good reviews and being very impressed with the specs compared to the price!   You do also get a 32 mb memory card which I was surprised to see but it only takes a few photos and it is full so you will need to buy another one!

How the camera looks!

Marble Blast Ultra Arcade Game Review

Marble Blast Ultra is a puzzle game for the Xbox 360 and is developed and published by Garage Games. This is an arcade game and therefore you buy it with Microsoft points and this game now costs only 400 points which is really cheap and about £3.20!

The objective of the game is to control a marble and you have to get to the end point in a set amount of time and then unlock a new level and you continue like this through the game but the levels get harder and harder and sometimes you have to collect other things to pass the level. Some obstacles include moving platforms, gravity changers and you also get some power ups to help you and my favourite is mega marble which makes you a massive marble temporarily.

Hot Fuzz Review

The main character is Nicholas Angel who is a policeman working in London and is being transferred because he is doing his job too well making the others look bad! He is sent to the village of Sandford where there appears to be no crime and yet on his first day he arrests underage drivers and someone who has been drink driving who turns out to be his partner!
Shortly after Nicholas arrives a series of strange murders occur...

The Secret Millionaire Review

The Secret Millionaire is aired on Channel Four on Wednesdays and lasts for an hour.

The show has a different millionaire every week (normally through working hard and creating businesses.) They then have to leave their family, house and other luxuries behind and move into a struggling community and put in very shabby houses and normally only given a very low amount of money each day.

The millionaire then spends most of the programme visiting charities, organisations and individuals in the community and tries to find some worthy causes for his money. At this point you meet some very kind people and also some people who really have poor lives and it makes you feel quite lucky!

As the show goes on the millionaire normally gets a bit closer to some of the communities and you also see the kindness of some people who spend most of their lives helping others even though they could probably do with a little help themselves! The only thing I don`t really get is that there is a camera crew there and although they say they are making a documentary I wonder if people actually believe this and as the show gets more popular I wonder if it will be able to continue due to people working out they are a secret millionaire.

Towards the end the millionaire decides who he is going to give his money to, why and how much. It is really quite moving at times and nice to see the kindness of some people and also some deserving people getting some money and the rich person helping the poor.

I would recommend this programme as it is quite moving and interesting and something positive and showing some people generosity in this usually very selfish world.

Son of Rambow Review

Son of Rambow is an interesting and slightly different film and was released in 2007. It is a very good film and probably is a little under rated.

The film is about the lives of two very different backgrounds. One is from a strict religious family and is not allowed to do anything (not allowed to watch TV, have a computer, have a CD) and his mum is also very strict with him. The other is a very naughty boy who is pretty much allowed to do what he wants and is often in trouble.

The film is actually really good and has nothing really to do with the Rambo movies other than a very vague connection - you will need to like or have watched to enjoy this. It is actually really quite funny and has some great moments. I would not say it is a must see film for some reason but there is nothing bad about it. The acting is good considering the age of the actors and the actors are all pretty much unknown. The plot is quite interesting and funny as well and also quite powerful at the same time!

The film is just over 90 minutes and is the perfect length really - it is not too long or too short and I feel if they tried to make it last another 30 minutes it might have started to get a little boring!

It is rated as a 12 for a bit of swearing and apparently violence but I don`t think anyone would be offended by this! Unless they were the religion in the film which the strict boy comes from - but they would not even ever see it as they would not be allowed!

Overall this is actually a really good film and I would recommend it!

2010 Fifa World Cup Achievement List Revealed

The achievement list for the upcoming Fifa World Cup Game has been released.   To see the achievements go to http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/2010-fifa-world-cup/achievements/.  It looks a pretty decent list but it is stupid EA once again encourages people to quit with an achievement for it!

Coraline Review

Seeing this film came with four pairs of 3D glasses and I wanted to see how 3D at home would work I bought Coraline.

Coraline Jones moves into a new massive home that is quite dull really with her loving family - who have lots of work to do so don`t have much time for her and means she quite often looks after herself in quite a large house. She meets a variety of strange characters from a strange cat to her very weird neighbour Mr Bobbinski. She eventually finds a little passage which leads to another version of her house in the Other World. Her new parents are nearly identical to her other parents but both have buttons in their eyes and she gets everything she wants like new clothes, parents to play games with her, nicer food e.t.c Eventually they become very possessive of her and want her to stay in the Other World and have buttons sewn in her eyes. Things then get a bit worse and the film goes quite dark for a children`s animation - especially in 3D!

The Great Escape Review

Watching the Great Escape on Sky Anytime last night I thought I had to review it. This movie is based on a book by Paul Brickhill who actually was in the camp in March 1944! The film is therefore based on true events but there are some inaccuracies so you should not believe everything that happens in the film! The film was made in 1963 but is still on every Christmas!

The Great Escape is set in World War 2 and begins with the P.O.W at a new camp which is meant to be very high security. The idea is to have "all the rotten eggs in one basket" so they can all be kept inside this one impossible to escape camp!

New Site Design

The site has received a fantastic update today with a new more attractive site design.  It really looks great and I hope you like the new look as well!  We are really pleased about the new look!

Split Second Trailer

Take a look at the exciting Split Second Trailer!  It looks really cool and a game I really want to get! The other amazing thing is that it is made by Disney.

The Highest Grossing Movies of All Time

This piece is actually mine and is from one of my Bukisa articles but I thought it would be quite good here so here it goes anyway!

With Avatar`s recent success overtaking the previous highest grossing film Titanic I thought it would be a good time to make a list of the highest grossing films of all time and that it would be a very interesting article.

Avatar Drop Review

Avatar Drop is an Xbox Live Indie Game. An Indie Game is made by small developers and are like short, cheap and basic games. This game only costs 80 Microsoft Points which is very cheap and probably like 60p to buy! It is a fun game where you control your Avatar and you have to try and get the most points. You get points by going through rings. Gold rings give you the most points but are smallest, silver are medium and bronze are biggest but give you the least points. Your Avatar is sort of a ragdoll which is quite funny!

I also like the use of the Avatars and it is funny seeing them hit sort of balloon objects and going through rings! The balloon objects basically make it more interesting and harder as you have to wait for them to get smaller before being able to go through some rings. You can control your Avatar by spinning and moving them and it works quite well!

You can also play multiplayer with other people on the same console or with computer controlled players which makes it more interesting!

The graphics are quite good and the same goes for the sound.

Overall if you have some spare microsoft points you could do much worse than buy this game instead of wasting it on a theme or avatar clothing! This game is nothing major but if you have a spare few minutes and can`t be bothered to change the game this is really good!

Just Cause (PS2) Review

With Just Cause 2 out I thought it would be a good time to have a review of the original Just Cause and see how far this game has come since then.  This review might be a little out of date now but it is still worth looking at!

Just Cause is an exciting action game for the Playstation 2 which is like another GTA based game and is developed by Eidos.

In the game you are the excellent character Rico Rodriguez who is sent to San Esperito Island and your job is to get rid of the evil dictator called Salvador Mendoza which allows you to have some fun on the missions!

There is also a massive free roaming element to this game as you can explore the massive island. I mean massive! You can take some nice cars from some of the civilians or parachute off a cliff! You can also fly helicopters, kill people, annoy the Agency and the police, and just have fun! I like the fact there are so many vehicles whether on car, in the air or even in the water on boat (yes there are boats!) In these vehicles Rico can also pull off some cool stunts like parachuting, hanging near the egde of a helicopter or jumping from car to car. He can even grapple cars!
This game is really fun and you can play for lots of time.

It is rated a 16+ and there is violence, drugs and a bit of sexually related stuff (but not that much) and some swearing so I would definitely not let anyone under the age of about 12 play this game!

The graphics are quite good as the world looks fantastic and so do all the people. All the vehicles look good and I think the graphics are pretty good.

Overall I would say this is a fun game for the PS2 and one I would recommend!

The game is also available on other platforms like Xbox 360 and I think PC.

Fifa 10 Review

Fifa 10 is EA`s latest offering and I wondered whether it would be worth buying but decided to buy it anyway.

Fifa 10 is the best football game to date in my opinion and is definitely the best Fifa out there so far. I used to love Pro Evolution Soccer but the last two games have been pretty poor and after hearing great things about Fifa 09 decided to go back to Fifa.

What is great about this game is the amount of different types of options you have to play in. You can play quick matches, control just one player in a team or play manager mode which is better than some stand alone manager games which sell for £40 on their own!

As always this is not a totally new game but does offer a few new clever features and better graphics etc. The main new feature is 360 degree dribbling which allows you to have a lot more freedom in movement whereas before you could only move in 8 directions. There are many little improvements which you may not even notice like better goalkeepers and the quick free kick has been changed a little.

You can now customise your set pieces which is a brilliant idea so you can get your perfect corner or free kick. This is good fun but I don`t think I have made a decent set piece out of lots of attempts!

My favourite new addition though is Virtual Pro which is like an extension of Be a Pro mode where you can play as yourself and improve through completing various tasks called accomplishments. You can play in manager mode, be a pro, in friendly matches and basically every other mode except for standard online matches. There is even a mode where you can join a club and compete with your virtual pro online!

The online matches are good fun and you can play with people across the world with Xbox Live. There are many different modes to play online and all of them are great fun! The online matches are fun but people sometimes quite e.t.c which is annoying! You can also play with your friends in nearly any offline game mode which is also good fun and better than playing online!

The game play is excellent and feels quite fluid and fast. The computer has improved and it just feels better. Features like 360 degree dribbling make a small difference but combined make it a lot better. There also seems to be a focus on strong players this year where you can often just knock weaker players off the ball!

Manager mode has been improved so much and now is nearly as good as standalone manager games! The transfer system has been improved and is now also more realistic. So a League 1 side is not going to sign Ronaldo! I think this is my favourite mode as it has so much more to do and lasts longer.

The other thing about the Fifa games is that they have the official licenses and kits which makes it a lot better than Pro Evolution where you have to get used to Man Red which is not a major thing but is annoying and means you have to spend hours manually fixing these details. For the first time this year the Dutch national team is fully licensed. I also like the fact you can play as League 1 and 2 teams meaning you can be your local team! There also lots of official stadiums like Old Trafford and the Bernabeu is available as a free download.

You can buy a mode called Live Season which lets you play for your favourite club and features updates in the real world so you have to play with your current team. So Man United would have to currently play without Ferdinand, Wes Brown e.t.c as they are injured and the same would apply if for example someone is suspended. A new downloadable mode called Ultimate Team is coming soon where you try and build your dream team as well!

The graphics have been improved as with every new game in the series. The top players really do look like their real life versions. Not so lucky for Rooney! However players in the lower leagues look a bit generic but still look realistic. The graphics for things like the pitch look excellent as well and overall are great.

The commentary is a lot worse and you soon hear the same phrases over and over again! The commentators are Andy Gray and Martin Tyler. In the match however you do hear sounds from the crowd like "Shoot" and "Man on" which is a nice touch and makes it more realistic. On the menus there is also often pop music which is decent enough.

Overall this is a great new Fifa game. Fifa has so many different game modes to play so it never gets boring, new features like Virtual Pro, fantastic graphics, great gameplay, a fun multiplayer and many updates to keep it fun and interesting you have to buy it if you are a video game and football fan!

I bought this game from Amazon for £25 a few months ago which is brilliant value but it can now be bought there for just £20!

Splosion Man Review - Sploding Fun

`Splosion Man is one of the gems you will find on the Xbox Live Arcade (which is probably one of the best things about the Xbox 360) and is well worth playing. It is made by a small developer called Twisted Pixel who also made the decent arcade game the Maw (which I will review soon) Sure they might not have a million pounds budget and a couple of people making a game but occasionally they show what videogames are all about and this is a case of that.

Splosion Man is one of the best Xbox Live arcade games out there and it provides pure fun! Your aim is to create havoc and chaos among some pesky scientists who made you (a strange cute fiery creature) It is a platform game mainly with you trying to reach the end by `sploding which sort is a mix between jumping, exploding and bouncing! You have to try to get past various obstacles and enemies and reach the end. There are even little extra things to do like collecting the delicious cake in each level.

The game starts off pretty easy but gradually gets harder and by the end turns very hard to do. It becomes challenging and rewarding when you finish a particularly tough level. It is also pretty funny whether you are sploding or when you destroy a scientist you see lots of meat come from them! Even when you stand still Splosion Man does a thing like pretend to be an aeroplane and it is a really nice game.

The game is fantastic fun and with 50 levels single player and another 50 levels multiplayer (which is completely different and requires some `sploding teamwork) it is great value for money. You can even get a gamer picture from the game and I think a theme. It is also one on the first games to include avatar awards and you get a free t shirt when you get to a certain point of the game! All of this for only 800 Microsoft Points which is about £6! It even has some easy achievements as well!

Overall this is a real gem and one of the top Xbox Live Arcade games and a must have!

Just Cause 2 DLC revealed

Just Cause 2 DLC has been revealed coming out as early as April 7th! This is a fantastic game and this is great news. Some of the DLC are from the preorder and limited editions of Just Cause 2 but there are many different types of DLC including vehicles, parachutes and weapons! I can`t wait till driving a Monster Truck aorund!

To find out more here is a link to the article Just Cause 2 DLC

250GB Xbox 360 Hard Drive Coming Out!

The Xbox 360 Hard Drive that has until featured on special editions of the console is now coming out as a standalone unit! You can now buy the 250GB Xbox Hard Drive separately. This is great news for Xbox fans as it means they will have a massive amount of room for arcade games, game saves, DLC, themes, gamerpics and more!

Now you will not have to struggle for space any longer as this hard drive will help and is priced at a very reasonable £70!

Dice will "never charge for Battlefield maps"

Dice have said they will never charge for Battlefield maps probably in a response to the outrageously priced Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack which was 1200 points. It is nice to see this and apparently according to Patrick Bach there are "generous" amounts of DLC planned for Battlefield: Bad Comapany 2`s future.

All I will say is that this is a nice move and welcome to!
